Me and Terry made a trip out to the Caney this Saturday and had a pretty decent day. We had to work around the generation a little bit since we were wading and not in a boat, but it wasn't too bad. Right now the generation cycle is 1 generator for 2 hours, then no generators for 4 hours. Just be prepared for a little more current in the river if they keep it this way. We first started off early at the rest area, since the generators were going 6-8am, but the trout weren't really hitting there. Terry was the only person I saw catch a fish. He caught 6 rainbows in about 2 hours somehow, while the other 10-15 people there including me, caught nothing. Then we moved up closer to the dam around 9am and finished off our limit with no problem. The river was pretty crowded, but we didn't see very many people catching fish. We caught most of our trout on powerbait and a few we caught on crankbaits. Nothing of any size, most were 10-13", but they sure did taste good last night.

When he says "Terry", he means dad. Apparently, when you take your dad fishing for Fathers Day, the dad has most of the luck. Feel free to pick me up on my Birthday too.

He's right about the current. If you are a wader, you will have to learn the holes a little better and the timing of the rise and fall of the water. On the same token, know what the generation schedule is before you go wading. It only took us one time, several years back to learn that lesson. All turned out well but we had to hike over and through some ugly terrain to get back to the truck.
